Lonely Planet currently rates Waiheke Island the 5th best world destination to visit.
Waiheke is also rated number 1 in the Conde Nast Traveler, ‘Best Islands in the World’ list.

Back in the ‘70’s Waiheke was a sleepy holiday destination for Auckland's and home to a few retirees and alternative life-stylers.
The advent of fast ferries departing the Auckland waterfront changed all that, and with an even quicker helicopter service available, the world has discovered Waiheke, “Island of Wine”. In addition to world class wine, Waiheke also boasts great food, superb accommodation, restaurants, secluded beaches, hiking trails offering spectacular ocean views, a burgeoning art scene and amazing saltwater fly fishing.

There’s a little something for everyone on Waiheke and our guides are happy to tailor a program that reflects your interests and time available.

HIKING & GUIDED WALKS

While Waiheke has certainly been ‘discovered’, much of the island remains wild and undeveloped. This is certainly true of the remote and rugged coastline and secluded bays and beaches. There are many hiking trails available on the island with varying degrees of difficulty / length of time to complete. All offer superb views and breath-taking scenery.

BESPOKE TOURS

A perfect combination for saltwater fly fishing enthusiasts and the ‘not so keen on fishing’ partner. Combine a half or full day fishing with a catch and cook experience provided by our experienced chef… or enjoy a picnic hamper featuring local produce, seafood and wine.

Partners can tour the island enjoying any combination of non-fishing activities while the others fish, meeting up for lunch.

Lunch can be a picnic at a private / secluded beach, a sit-down meal at a popular vineyard, or if the fishing has gone well, a catch / cook experience fully catered by our private chef.
